Milk Studios

A few weeks ago I got the privilege to assist on our magazines upcoming december feature story. It was my first time in Milk Studios NYC which was such a cool thing all on its own. Chelsea NYC has such a great vibe and I love the eclectic mixture of people walking the streets. I had a 6:30 am call time and since the bus from our Apartment in NJ doesn't leave that early I took the ferry across the hudson and got to witness an amazing NYC sunrise on the river. Such a beautiful way to start the day!  We were constantly supplied with beverages as well as LEGIT food. This was my first time assisting a stylist in NYC and it was such an incredible experience I hope to be able to do again soon.

Hells Kitchen Flea round 2

Hells Kitchen round 2 ! On this jaunt to hells kitchen flea market there was a variety of new vendors which was cool and I noticed a few familiar booths and faces. My absolute favorite thing to do is dig through the dirtiest of thrift stores to find vintage gems and flea markets bring those gems to the forefront. The thing I dislike most about flea markets though is the price, but I am always on the hunt for a good deal. There was a great assortment of designer duds such as Prada, D&G and Vuitton which some are pictured below. I love just imagining the history behind the vintage pieces especially as most are from New york City themselves. Found some amazingly interesting hats as well which I love because I have been collecting vintage hats for a few years now. Here are some more pics of my adventure, I am wearing head to toe vintage and these printed pants are a fun print I got form this great vintage store in Spokane, Wa called Area 51 I believe and are super comfortable, perfect for a day rummaging through vintage.

Central Park

Day trip to Central park. This was my first time actually walking through the park and since Charlotte was in LA I had time to kill during the weekend. It was such an amazingly beautiful day and I am so glad I took the time out to explore! Its such and inspiring place that is a nice hideaway form the crowds and the noise of the city. I was definitely a tourist taking pictures of everything in site.

ReDress Forever ..

So far my favorite plus size shopping stops in NYC is the forever 21 in Times Square which just so happens to be super close to Conde Nast and secondly my weekly haunt ReDress in Brooklyn. The seasons have begun to shift and my Fall wardrobe is in dire need of an update. Though packed and somewhat overwhelming at times the Times Square forever21 has the largest pus size section I have seen in a long time and it helps that their prices are low! ReDress is my favorite place to pick up plus size vintage in NY. Their prices are definitely not as low as I would like but are bearable since the clothes fit well. Here are some pics of my adventures to both of them.
